Peter’s Bio

Greetings and Salutations,

“Welcome to my shop, let me dust yar mop, let me shave your crop…” (Bugs Bunny, Rabbit of Seville, 1950).

I love that limerick. It comes from an old cartoon that I used to watch on early Saturday mornings when I was just a young lad. It has stuck with me for many years, the scene of Bugs Bunny as a barber trying to elude Elmer Fudd as they stumble on stage, mingling their presence to the act being played out. Simple comedy, good music, vast amounts of entertainment.

My name is Peter. Friends call me Wade. Enemies wish me Dead in a Pool*. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. Bios usually stump me for reasons that shouldn’t confound most. How does one convey who one is through a short excerpt or a few meager paragraphs without encompassing the vast array of experience that makes one unique? See my dilemma?

So here I sit, contemplating what to write about myself to let you know who I am. The intro should suffice to establish a few things. The rest will simply have to do.

I have been drawing in earnest since I was 12. I have been doing art and enjoying the like my whole life. Music, painting, sketching building, cooking, creating, any form that lets expression be conveyed while looking really cool. That is what I mean. I went to college for computer animation and wound up painting Warhammer 40k models. Strange how life takes you to unexpected places.

Currently, I am unjustly incarcerated (link to case summary is coming soon), trying to find my way home. But that doesn’t deter me from doing the art. It merely limits me to the mediums I have at my disposal. The gallery here is the example of progress made while being restricted to simple materials over the course of nine years. There is much to gain from being forced to find a way to create. Like many artists, my work always speaks for itself.

I don’t pick the projects I work on, per se. I merely see something that fascinates me and calls to me. I always try to make things my own even if they aren’t my original design. I hope the images and projects on display are as pleasing to you as the originals are to me. If there is something you like, tell me so in a comment and we can find a way to share it with you.

I am open to commissions. But that doesn’t mean I will do every request posed to me. This is not my career. It is a passion and a hobby I wish to continue enjoying as such. However, I will give you a clue as to sparking my interest. I like a challenge. Give me that, and I will endeavor to put to task taking the concept from your imagination and putting it to paper. Or other medium that will suit the piece.

I like a challenge.

If you have read this far and have taken the time to learn about me, then I thank you in kind for the most precious thing any one person can give: Their time. You have my gratitude.

Since this was started with a quote, then it is only fitting to end it with one, perhaps a little serious rather than light-hearted.

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” (George Bernard Shaw, Man and Superman, 1903)
