Time presses me forward and calls me back. I remember, regret, remain, react. Daily life skitters, plain and dull. I waste it pursuing an unworthy goal. Too tired to rise, too busy to sin. Uncomfortable in aging skin. Things I wanted have faded away. Now I dream of some future day. But when I can sit calmly in the sun, I’ll be dreaming of adventures gone undone. Time, give me a chance to breathe. Give me the courage to run free. I want to climb the rocks of the east, And write my story, and say my peace. To live is to break from the treadmill of days. Impassioned, emboldened, aflame, amazed.
