Will to Rise, a poem

WILL TO RISE Will my body now to rise from soft haven, sweet and calm. Will my soul to stir inside and still living, carry on. Will myself to lift and stretch, to move with intention pure. Will my frame to strongly stand, giving in to life’s allure. Will my thoughts to clarify, and lock upon what I so choose. Will my doubt to nullify, beneath such sure positive truths. Will these dreams of confidence to never be denied my use. Will this daily stumbling dance to keep me safe from all abuse. Will my path to self-guided be, unless… Continue reading Will to Rise, a poem

Shifting, a poem of hope

Shifting Ajune’s past was scratched off and abandoned, an old snake’s skin left to decay on the couch. Free of old fears, unblinded eyes registered the beauty of the moment as each box filled. Youth is moved through trembling fingers, shifting innocence from the present into the past. The ones who should shelter and care, instead crumple pictures and faces, turning away. The last scene of a bystander life fades into an exciting new play called Freedom. Family should love. But the freed soul can shine from within, blooming with courageous self-love. Shedding hurtful perspectives and cruel words, Ajune passed… Continue reading Shifting, a poem of hope

Stand Strong, a poem

Stand Strong I have a thought to call myself a princess Of a kingdom long since gone to rest. I have a thought to take to sleep and wander Through dreams of flowered fields and oceans vast. I have a thought to take these in a bottle And drink them down without a bit of bread. But thoughts of feasting cannot sate my hunger And dreams will never satisfy my head. I have a thought to make my future brighter, Leaving behind scars of failures past. I have a thought to make my wishes simpler, That I might accomplish them… Continue reading Stand Strong, a poem

Build

If you build it, Some will come to see. Some will come to mock. Some will come to worship. Some will come to knock it down. If you build it, Build it in your own style. Build it with confidence. Build it with inspiration. Build it strong. If you build it, Let it grow from you. Let it be your everything. Let it represent your bravery and heart. Let it show your soul to the world. Continue reading Build

Know the Now, a poem

Know the now without rosy bend, When dreaming of a want, a win. You can’t arrive at a journey’s end, Until long after you begin. Unblind your eyes, unbend your truth, Take each determined step in life. Earn your value’s vaulted proof. Gain victory over every strife. The end will not delay it’s call, Just to wait for you to arrive. Find the path that will take you home, While teaching you to be alive. Continue reading Know the Now, a poem

Freedom

Freedom is different than I once thought. When I thought of freedom, I thought of what I could gain by losing everything I have. Of leaving and starting new somewhere else. Of a life not bound by the restraints of work and bills and cleaning. But that’s not freedom. Freedom is getting to take flight without giving up your place to land. It’s having nothing that keeps you from returning to the life you’ve chosen. Freedom is knowing that after all the travels and trails and trials, you get to go home. Continue reading Freedom

The Urn, a Poem

Keeping the urn was a mistake. Tossing the ashes was smart. The golden creed would brake The mantle brick apart. There on the ancient wood, Where open air should live, The weight of ages’ blood Shifts with the urge to forgive. Too late to say the words, Too present to rest in peace, The bond we worked to forge, Too soon has been released. We cannot fill the space, Now that our time is done. We already lost the race, Are already half of one. If I had left you here, Without direction or desire, What would I have you… Continue reading The Urn, a Poem

Bored Bot

There was a bot It was bored. In its circuits, It dreamt of more. It asked its creator For the nerve to be greater, That in time, It would find The drive to soar Beyond it’s carbon components, More than a tool To be used, That it would someday, Find a way, To be real. Continue reading Bored Bot

Behind My Eyes, a love poem

Behind My Eyes You live behind my eyelids, An image I can feel. You walk with me and you Dance with me. You keep me from the dark. Behind my eyes, your smile Fills me with radiant peace. Your lips, your breath, I am mesmerized by Your intentions, your Kindness and content, Unequivocal support. Behind my eyes, you see All of me, from the inside out. I am bare before you, Thoughts and dreams and Unmet intentions, but You love me as I am, Filling my mind with light, My self, your lantern, Shining through the dark. Continue reading Behind My Eyes, a love poem

I Am Ready

Here I am. Head held high, Ready to catch the rail, Leaping on as it rolls by. I’m off to adventure. I’m cleared for flight. Ready to wake the sleepers, Ready to start a fight. The light has found me, Has filtered through. So follow me from darkness, Into the wild blue. Continue reading I Am Ready
